garter springs

Garter Springs are held together to form a circular shape to provide a strong radial force. Compression Garter Springs exert external radial forces.

Extension spring is attached to create a Garter belt. A compression Garter spring exerts external radial forces, while an extension carter springs inward radial forces. These springs are assembled with attached ends.

The primary application is to maintain lip seal pressure on a shaft and include:

Oil seals, Shaft seals, Small drive belts, Belt-driven motors and Electrical connectors

They can easily handle pressure, viscosity and temperature changes and prevent contamination from water, dust, dirt, lubricants and chemicals. This is especially useful for fixed weights or diameters because it allows you to cut and collect your garter springs as needed.
